By way of a thank you, here is the second in an infrequent series on some of the blogs that send traffic Omnibuses’ way. See the first profiled, here. Today, we visit Busworld Photography. It’s positioned at no. 16 in the 2011 blogs of importance. See the top half-dozen, here
Today’s “thank you” is of a blog that is probably unique. It’s a collection of historic photos with added blog functionality: a photo-blog that allows the author to embellish his selected image with some well-chosen words.
The key word above is “randomly”. Anything can happen but no matter the content, the images are usually evocative. They’re rarely the standard record shots you often see and this makes for a very welcome change. Leach’s photographs show buses as part of the streetscape, as part of life, suggesting that buses are integral to their surroundings (which, if course, they are).
And, if you like the distraction, he has a “thing” about women in his photographs, somewhat akin Robert Jowett. Not all of them, not most of them but some.
The only criticism I have is that some of the entries are recycled. So, this recent picture of an ex-Bournemouth PDR/1 Atlantean itself recalling a former Potteries operator appeared on 22nd March 2012, 26th January 2011 and 27th January 2009. But, hey, newer readers will probably not notice that the site’s been up since late 2006. Posts are about twice a week. I don’t think he’s updated his Blogger design template since. Omnibuses used to be like that before our one-and-only makeover.

Jowett and his girls! Brings back memories ...
Now it's my turn to thank Omnibuses for some exposure as I had many more visits than usual on 6th May. I'm pleased most of your observations were positive. As you say I do repost sometimes as I forget what has been added, but even though people ought too, not many bother to look at the archive. As for that dark blue background I'm rather fond of it and as a habitual as opposed to a comitted blogger I feel it's more important to keep adding the images. These days I have a 'restricted' Flicr account too where I have to recycle most photos so I duplicate many of them here for those who want them to linger. I have a new scanner which will also scan old negatives nicely so I hope to add many more unseen views. My viwings have fallen back over time but when I started adding my Portugal images it became almost a cult over there but not surprisingly once I exhaused them the visits fell back again. Most of my visitors come from Google Images but Omnibues is number-two. Might I also add that I very much enjoy coming here for an interesting and colourful read. So it's a "thank you" to you too.
