… Omnibuses!
2006 was a good year for Omnibuses. We’ve managed a post nearly every day in 2006 (bar August) and passed the 500-post mark (on 17 December), not bad for a site whose first post is dated September 2003 and with only one post a day, from September 2005.
In fact, we’ve written over 117,000 words last year.
And in spite of the competition of nearly a quarter of the UK population writing online journals (according to MSN - can you believe that?), Omnibuses has shown sustained growth throughout 2006. November 2006 was unprecedented, following reports on here of Euro Expo 2006. Using Google, large numbers stumbled upon Omnibuses by typing the show's new chassis and/or body types; at the time, East Lancs Kinetic, Optare Versa, Noge Titanium, East Lancs Olympus and Ecoturas all pointed to Omnibuses within the first 10 on Google.
The number of Comments is increasing, too, and we are grateful to all who’ve expressed a view. We don’t edit these comments. All we can do is elect to keep or delete them and the only deleted comment I recall was a reply I’d managed to send up twice. We’ve even left critical comments up.
Omnibuses is probably the first blog of its type in the world and in wishing all visitors a prosperous 2007, we’d like to thank those who have supported us in 2006, the newcomers and the regulars with us since we started using a crude stats package in September 2005 to measure such things.
