Today’s the fourth Saturday in October. Nothing especially significant about that, you might think. Except that exactly 20 years ago the fourth Saturday was dated 25th October, the last day of the UK’s regulated bus industry rĂ©gime, the last day that route licensing held sway since the 1930s, the last day before deregulation changed the face of Britain’s bus service forever. It's worth a thought.
